Welcome to my Web site!

Hello my name is Frank Everett and I live in Griswold, CT.  Originally I was born in Uniontown, PA but I grew up in a small town in Massachusetts called Westminster.  After a brief stint in the collegiate world, I enlisted in the United States Navy.  To make a long story short, I volunteered to serve in the Submarine Force.  I attended the Navy's Nuclear Power School pipeline to learn how to operate and maintain nuclear power plants on submarines.

After about 18 months, I received orders to report to my first submarine, the USS Sam Rayburn SSBN-635 Gold.    Three years later, I reported to the USS Francis Scott Key, SSBN-657 Blue.  Between the 2 submarines, I made seven strategic patrols during the height of the Cold War.  My first shore tour was conducted in Pensacola, Florida and Tuscaloosa, Alabama where I was a Navy Recruiter.

My next naval assignment took me to Groton, CT.  While in Groton, I was assigned to a new construction crew at Electric Boat.  I became a plankowner onboard the USS Hartford SSN-768.  This tour lasted 6 years and took me to many places around the world, including several trips under the Artic ice cap.  My next shore tour placed me at the Naval Submarine School also located in Groton, CT.  Here as an instructor, I taught advanced electrical maintenance courses to other Naval personnel.

Seventeen years later, I resumed my collegiate career and earned a B.S. in Workforce Education from Southern Illinois University.  After nearly 21 years of Naval service, I retired from the United States in 2002.

I now work for EG&G Technical Services where I help design computer based training for the United States Navy to be used on the new Virginia Class submarines.  Currently, I am attending the University of Connecticut where I am working on my Master's in Education, specializing in Educational Technology.
